GM Mayor Andy Burnham and Cllr Sean Anstee, Leader of Trafford Council and GM Lead for Skills, Employment and Apprenticeships, launched the new programme with a round table discussion with Working Well participants and key workers who discussed their experiences of getting support and finding their way back to work.
MD of GC Employment, Jerry Stokes said: “It was a very proud moment for me and the employment team to have two of our clients – Parma Stephens and David Nelson – engage in that discussion and share their stories.
To see just how far they’ve come since their initial referral to the Growth Company is incredible and a welcome reminder of the positive impact we’ve had to date and will continue to have across GM as we support delivery of Working Well.
Commissioned by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Working Well (Work and Health Programme) is being delivered by InWorkGM, an alliance partnership of Ingeus and The Growth Company. It also includes Pluss, who provide specialist health and disability support. The Growth Company will be supported by Pathways CIC who offer wellbeing services.
It will offer a seamless, co-ordinated and sequenced package of support to people to help them address barriers and challenges and will be financed by the European Social Fund.
