This course will help you develop the skills and knowledge to become a highly competent and skilled plasterer.
The Level 2 Diploma in Plastering covers;
Health & Safety
Preparing a variety of surfaces for plastering
Preparing materials for different techniques
Applying materials to walls, ceilings and other surface
Producing fibrous materials for casting and fixing
You will also study towards your Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 1 – if required.
You will gain technical knowledge and practical skills whilst on the course. You will need to demonstrate that you can apply these new skills and knowledge effectively and you will be assessed during practical assignments, unit end tests and online tests.
Once you have completed the course you will need to gain experience applying your new learning whilst working on ‘live’ jobs.
Once you are able to gain this experience you could be assessed against the NVQ so that you can gain the full Plastering qualification.
There are opportunities to progress on to a full Level 2 Apprenticeship once employment within the industry has been gained. Upon completion of the Level 2 Apprenticeship you could move on to an advanced apprenticeship at Level 3 in Plastering.
The qualifications you'll need are:
To successfully pass the CITB trade assessment
To successfully pass the Recruitment interview
GCSE’s grades A-C in Maths and English ideal but not essential.
