Course Overview

The aim of this course is to develop the skills and knowledge to become a highly competent and skilled scaffolder. 

The Level 2 Diploma in Scaffolding covers;

  • Health & Safety and safe working practices in construction
  • Moving and handling
  • Information, quantities and communication with others
  • Basic independent and birdcage scaffolds
  • Basic scaffold towers
  • Basic cantilevered scaffolds
  • Basic pavement and roof scaffolds
  • Provision for fall arrest

You will also study towards your Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 1 – if required.

You will gain technical knowledge and practical skills whilst on the course.  You will need to demonstrate that you can apply these new skills and knowledge effectively and you will be assessed during practical assignments, unit end tests and online tests. 

Once you have completed the course you will need to gain experience applying your new learning on site.

Once you are able to gain this experience you could be assessed against the NVQ so that you can gain the full Scaffolding qualification.   

There are opportunities to progress on to a full Level 2 Apprenticeship once employment within the industry has been gained.  

The quailfications required for this course are: 

  • Successfully pass the CITB trade assessment
  • Successfully pass the Recruitment interview
  • GCSE’s grades A-C in Maths and English ideal but not essential.
