This course will help you develop the skills and knowledge to become a highly competent and skilled wall and floor Tiler.
The Level 2 Diploma in Tiling covers;
Health & Safety
Moving and handling resources
Forming sand and cement screeds
Preparing backgrounds for tiling
Measuring & preparing
Tiling wall and floor surfaces
You will also study towards your Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 1 – if required.
You will gain technical knowledge and practical skills whilst on the course. You will need to demonstrate that you can apply these new skills and knowledge effectively and you will be assessed during practical assignments, unit end tests and online tests.
Once you have completed the course you will need to gain experience applying your new learning whilst working on ‘live’ jobs.
Once you are able to gain this experience you could be assessed against the NVQ so that you can gain the full Tiling qualification.
This course is usually completed within 3-4 months. The course length will be agreed at the start depending upon your knowledge, previous experience and attendance pattern.
There are opportunities to progress on to a full Level 2 Apprenticeship once employment within the industry has been gained. Upon completion of the Level 2 Apprenticeship you could move on to an advanced apprenticeship at Level 3 in Tiling.
Qualifications required are:
Successfully pass the CITB trade assessment
Successfully pass the Recruitment interview
GCSE’s grades A-C in Maths and English ideal but not essential.
