Jobs Guarantee for Young People
Backed by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and part of the Youth Guarantee, the Jobs Guarantee provides funded six-month paid work for young people aged 18 to 24.
It helps employers fill vacancies, grow their teams, and connect local people to good-quality jobs, with support available from the Growth Company throughout.
What is the Jobs Guarantee?
- Who: 18–24-year-olds on Universal Credit for 18 months or more
- What: 6-month paid work placement (25 hours/week)
- Cost: Fully funded wage costs (National Minimum Wage)
- Support: Simple onboarding and wraparound support from the Growth Company

The Jobs Guarantee is a government‑funded programme that offers young people aged 18 to 24 a six‑month paid work placement, while giving local employers fully funded extra support.
Wages are fully funded through the programme, with no payroll costs for employers. Employers can also claim up to £250 to cover onboarding costs.
Placements are for 18 to 24‑year‑olds who have been on Universal Credit and looking for work for 18 months or more.
Employers will receive end‑to‑end support from the Growth Company, including help with recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing guidance during the placement.
Employers are expected to offer meaningful employment for 25 hours per week, provide guidance and management, and help the young person gain skills and experience in the workplace.
