Employment Legal Advice - Monthly recap from September

  • Wednesday, September 7, 2022

Our ELA team offer free employment-related legal advice and support to Greater Manchester residents. The team can assist you with issues including settlement agreements, completing ET1 forms, schedules of loss, arranging Mckenzie Friend service and preparation for the tribunal day, all with a no win no fee representation. Not all employment issues require the individual to have 2 years of continual service. Over the month of August, some of the issues the team has been able to help with include dismissal in probation, restrictive covenants, bonuses, delayed start dates, long-term sickness, and TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings – Protection of Employment).

Partner Spotlight – Shiva Shadi at Davis Blank Furniss LLP

Shiva has been partnered with ELA from the start of the service and has been hugely valuable to the programme. Shiva has provided service users with free advice on issues including raising a grievance, a withheld P45 as well as several bullying and harassment matters in the workplace.

Shiva is a Partner in the Employment team at David Blank Furniss LLP – a Manchester and Glossop-based law firm. Her key areas of expertise include acting for employers and senior executives in matters ranging from drafting documentation, company restructuring, senior executive severances, disciplinary and grievances as well as long-term absences and performance management. Shiva also advises on TUPE and the full range of tribunal claims, including discrimination claims – which also involves appearing at the Employment Tribunals on behalf of her clients. Shiva’s advice is practical and commercially tailored to her clients.
