Greater Manchester Employment Programme Set to Support 2,000 More People
- Monday, June 9, 2025
A groundbreaking programme that combines health and employment support is set to help even more people across Greater Manchester.
Working Well: Individual Placement and Support in Primary Care was commissioned by Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) in 2023. Delivered by the Growth Company, it supports people in the city region who have physical or mental health conditions to find and stay in work, or to return to their current job with the right help.
Thanks to the success of its first two years, the programme is now being expanded to include more eligible participants.
Additional funding and broader enrolment criteria will allow the programme to support a further 2,000 people. This marks an important step in increasing access to employment support and placing more people into good jobs.
Commenting on the news, the Growth Company’s Head of Individual Placement and Support Rochelle Seddon said: “This next chapter represents a vote of confidence in a joined-up approach to health employment support, not to mention the good work that’s already been done in Greater Manchester.
“We’re proud that the programme recently received a ‘Good’ Fidelity rating from IPS Grow and pleased that it’s now being expanded to reach more people.”
